Willow Hill SBG

Well done to the lads at Willow Hill Archery Club for putting together a very challenging course on the side of their hill. A lot of ups and downs here, and not just the hills! Good target placement using the lay of the land to confuse the eye made for an interesting shoot.
Unfortunately, they haven't got IAC's direct line to the weather man and the torrential rain made the course difficult to navigate and shoot, and forced the early end of the day at lunch. Still, it is an outdoor pursuit and that is going to happen occasionally.
Well done again and we look forward to the next one, hopefully with better weather!

Wow what a beautiful course. Fantastic new 3Ds cleverly placed to challenge the mind. A great atmosphere filled with smiles with disregard for the persistent rain.
Very very enjoyable.

Willow Hill was an adventure !
A real challenge was set in the woods with plenty of great shots that tested your skill and temper ! This was reflected in the scores that showed how these shots made all of us have to really put the effort into it and get great satisfaction when you got it.
Great shoot lads, you put a lot of work into it and were let down by the weather, but I think that I can say that everyone enjoyed the challenge

How can so few do so much.
We were spoiled this weekend in Willow Hill.
For all of us that ignored the bad weather forecast and went to this shoot we were treated to a fantastic day out. It was a splendid course, set out in a alpine forest. At first glance on the winding gravel road in it felt like I was in Canada. We arrived in the car park to a great welcome and were taken on a tour of base camp with its large tented area which came in mighty handy later in the day. It was a great buzz to be the first to shoot the new 3Ds. I have to say they were probably the best I have shot so far,(they must have cost you a fortune)
The choice of shots were spot on with each one offering its own challenge and framed in its natural setting - they looked great.
Water water everywhere as the sky opened and poured down on us before lunch but we trundled on putting in some great scores to finish the round. To round it off it never stopped after that and we were resigned to the fact that the rain had stopped play.
Brilliant craig at the raffle with everyone going home with a prize.
Hats off to all who took part and to all at Willow Hill for a shoot to remember for all the right reasons.
Can't wait to shoot this one again. Next time I will ask the big dude to send some sunshine.

WET archers
WET scorecards
WET gear
Shot 15 targets and the lovely dry marquee beckoned on the way from No.18 to No 1. Looking forward to shooting Willow Hill in better conditions. Thanks to all for a memorable day!

Willow Hill archery club would like to thank everyone who came and supported our inaugural shoot. 14 souls braved the weather and took on our course
As the morning progressed the weather deteriorated and when the groups came back at lunch time it was decided to call it a day if the weather did not improve.
It did not, so the dedicated groups that went out after lunch were called back.
Thanks to all our club members for all the hard work they put into the event putting the course out and running the base camp.
We will stick a pin in the calender for 2012 and maybe get some better weather for our next shoot ?
