Black Dog, Feb 5th 2012

A big group of archers took part in the 2nd shoot of 2012 which took place in fine weather, a huge contrast for those who competed at IAC just a week earlier. Some wet weather was due but it did not materialise and although the temperature dipped a couple of degrees in the afternoon, it did not deter the archers concerned. Even the passing of a hunt nearby with an appearance from a few wayward hounds did not affect the running of the competition.
Dunbrody Archers was extremely well represented with a total of 25 present and was enjoyed by all of us. A special mention of well done to our newer archer Catherine who did well on her first IFAF shoot.
The Black Dog crew as usual put on an interesting all 3d shoot (14 x2). A trio of longer distance targets one after an other tested many archers as did the small Meercat just off the lower roadway. The atmosphere in the woods was jovial and fun, with sounds of many light hearted jests and jeers to be heard.
A fun raffle and medal presentation concluded the day, and it was great to get on the road home early. Well done to all concerned at Black Dog on an enjoyable, memorable, and successful day.
Andrew Wayland Dunbrody...

Here are some photos from Black Dog. It was a great day. Lots of Dunbrody Archers there, 25 of us I think. Really enjoyed shooting with Helen and Philip. All the kids had a ball especially when a few hounds from a local hunt visited the course.

Thanks to all the archers who travelled down to the Black Dog shoot on Sunday, both our own club members and the large number of visitors. Apologies to Alannah Vagg who was overlooked at the medal presentation.
